Bulls waive F Johnson III, G Nelson

CHICAGO (AP)—The Chicago Bulls have waived forward Linton Johnson(notes) III andguard DeMarcus Nelson(notes).

In his second stint with the Bulls, Johnson played in eight games andaveraged 1.1 points and 1.0 rebounds. He was signed to two 10-day contracts inMarch before getting a deal for the remainder of the season on April 7.

A former Duke star, Nelson was the Golden State Warriors’ starting pointguard on opening night, but he quickly fell out of favor with coach Don Nelsonand played in just 13 games before being waived. He signed with the Bulls onApril 4 but didn’t play for them.
